LED and HID lights draw less power than standard lights. Some cars have a computer or a system by which it looks for a reasonable load to assume the headlights are working. These aim to solve that. These JTX units are more than just canbus and also address earth switching as well. All Toyotas need these as they need more than just canbus.
These SMART modules by JTX don’t just do canbus but also fix negative or earth switching issues.
To eliminate confusion we set out to make these as fool proof as possible. Simply plug these into the old headlight sockets.
These now fix all of the following …
No matter what brand of LED or even HID you are trying to use, if you have a Toyota, Suzuki or old Datsun then you do need these. Every Toyota known to man (even yours) came out with negative switching and even today the new models still have it.
You need 1 module per light. This listing is for 2 modules. If you have 4 lights you will need a second set.
If you are running DRL Halo those need an earth and some cars (not all) have no earth to the inner high beam lights unless they are turned on. That means the Halo will struggle so the trick is to join the earth wire at the inner light to the earth wire of the outer light.
JTX Lighting also sell superlooms that address all of the above as well – in fact the superlooms offer new earth to the lights and operate them like a conventional car would so there is no issues with the inner DRL not working.
Note a select few cars need a superloom as well as the JTX Load module and whan that happens JTX are there to help you out – please be sure to fit the JTX Load Module to the old factory headlight sockets and not between the harness and the lights. Otherwise the car wont know they are there.
